An Absolutely Fantastic Resource About Pregnancy and Diabetes

March 10th, 2010 admin

"Diabetes Rising"
Diabetes Rising is a strange name for the most readable book ever written about diabetes. But diabetes is a strange disease, as Dan Hurley shows in the book that Kaplan published yesterday. The publisher sent me galley proofs of the new book several months ago. I’ve been waiting to review it until it became generally available. Of the hundreds...

I Forgot How Good It Feels To Push Myself
I’ve always been a quote collector. Each year in high school I wrote down all of the senior quotes in a notebook. I think I occasionally looked back at them. My two daughters and I are learning quilting from her, going to the pool, reading books from the summer reading list, and poking around overstuffed antique shops. Titled Balancing Pregnancy with Pre-existing Diabetes, it covers the whole pregnancy experience, from the...

No Diabetes or No Pregnancy?
This morning, I checked my email as usual. JDRF had sent a clinical trial list to me. I tend to check the list every now and then to just see if there is anything I qualify for and anything that works for me. I’ve contacted a few over the years but never commited to anything (usually they are out of state and I can’t afford the travel...
Well, That Explains It
This is an official warning: if you are a boy you may not want to read this post because it deals with girly issues and bodily fluids. Heck, if you’re a girl and get squeemish when talking about girly issues and bodily fluids you may not want to read it either.  Read More →
