Up Five Pounds

March 13th, 2010 admin

I’m really irritated with my weight lately. I’ve gained over five pounds back from the twenty that I worked so hard to lose last year. It all started after my endometriosis surgery and the start of Accutane.

Gaining Weight….Again
My endo last week told me that weight gain was just a simple matter of calories in and calories out. I brought in my concern that I’d gained about eight pounds in the last three months without changing diet or exercise excessively. I worked really hard to lose weight last year, I don’t want to start seeing the scale creep up and feel...
Are My Kidneys Okay?
I’ve had off and on bladder pain for several years now. The endometriosis surgery that I had in November was supposed to have fixed it, but I’m not so sure it did. Sunday, I developed vice-like bladder pain that would not go away with ibuprofen. I started drinking tons of water then headed to the doctor on Monday.  Read More →

Zinc, Sore Throat, and Unending Lows
Sunday night, my throat started hurting pretty badly. I haven’t had any type of cold or cough in probably two years. Usually the first signs, I can kick whatever I have with extra vitamin C and this juice that I drink. I did the usual, but it stayed irritated.  Read More →

The Final Inning
Today was my last dermatology appointment for the Accutane. I’m a mixture of excited and sad. I’m excited because the Accutane has been such a hassle. Monthly doctor’s appointments and blood draws, debilitating side effects, and just the stress of putting this into my system. So now it’s over. Awesome.  Read More →
The ‘Other’ ED (Disordered Eating)
Some years ago, I joined an online “healthy eating forum”, expecting support in eating healthy (fresh, whole, medically-appropriate) foods in reasonable amounts — the same sort of community support one expects from a community in which people are looking to lose or maintain weight. What I found instead was a community of young women...
Catching Up With Team Type 1
Catching Up With Team Type 1
Having missed Saturday’s road race, I was more determined than ever to not-miss Team Type 1 at Sunday’s criterium. Since a criterium pretty much stays in one place (think of it as racing twenty times around the block to see who’s fastest), even if I missed the start, I should manage to catch up with the team somewhere.  Read More →
